Role Overview
Rocket Lab is seeking an RF Engineer I/II – Radar in Long Beach, California.
The role supports radar and RF systems including Synthetic Aperture Radar and space-based radar applications.
The engineer works with experienced radar engineers on development, analysis, simulation, testing, and integration.
The position may be hired at the RF Engineer I or RF Engineer II level.
System Development
- Support radar architecture, prototyping, integration, testing, and flight development.
- Perform link-budget analysis, performance modeling, radar simulations, orbital analysis, and mission analysis.
- Support waveform, timing, PRF, and RF component design trades and calculate resolution, SNR, coverage, and orbital effects.
- Develop test plans, technical reports, analysis summaries, and interface-control documentation.
Testing and Integration
- Participate in radar payload testing, calibration, image-quality assessment, and RF component characterization.
- Assist with radar data collection and post-processing.
- Learn spacecraft integration considerations including power budgets, thermal interfaces, and data handling requirements.
