Job Summary
The Retail Delivery Engineer supervises tenant fit-outs, minor construction works, and retail delivery activities across managed properties.
The role ensures work is safe, compliant with approved drawings and specifications, and delivered within programme and quality requirements.
The position supports the Retail Delivery Manager in delivering projects to opening standard.
Site Supervision and Quality Control
- Supervise daily on-site activities for tenant fit-outs, refurbishments, and retail delivery projects.
- Inspect works at key milestones against approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Document snags, non-conforming works, and safety violations and issue formal non-compliance notices.
- Enforce fit-out rules for working hours, noise curfews, and waste management.
Contractor Access and Site Management
- Control contractor and tenant site access and verify permits, insurance, and method statements before work begins.
- Maintain daily site diaries recording attendance, completed work, and issues raised.
- Coordinate power, water, and drainage connections with the engineering team.
- Manage hard-hat compliance, signage, segregation, and fire-risk controls.
Programme and Reporting
- Monitor tenant fit-out programmes and report progress against target dates to the Retail Delivery Manager.
- Identify delays, constraints, and risks and advise management on mitigation options.
- Prepare weekly site supervision reports and photographic evidence packs.
Tenant and Contractor Liaison
- Act as the primary on-site contact for tenants and their fit-out contractors.
- Manage day-to-day contractor queries, instructions, and site coordination issues.
- Facilitate pre-start meetings to review site rules and access procedures.
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma or bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field.
- NEBOSH or IOSH safety certification is preferred.
- Four to six years of site supervision experience in fit-out, construction, or retail delivery.
- Experience supervising multiple fit-out projects in a retail or commercial property environment.
- GCC or KSA experience is preferred.

- Functional competencies include site supervision, quality inspection, contractor access, site management, programme monitoring, HSE enforcement, reporting, and documentation.
