Overview
The Resident Inspector – Civil (O&M) is responsible for supervising, inspecting, and ensuring the quality and compliance of civil maintenance works within metro/rail infrastructure.
The role focuses on supporting operations and maintenance activities by ensuring that civil assets such as stations, viaducts, tunnels, depots, and track structures are maintained to the highest safety and performance standards.
Site Inspection & Supervision
- Conduct daily inspections of civil structures including stations, tunnels, viaducts, bridges, depots, and track works.
- Monitor ongoing maintenance and repair activities to ensure compliance with approved methods and specifications.
- Ensure all works are executed as per drawings, standards, and contract requirements.
Maintenance Oversight (O&M)
- Supervise preventive and corrective maintenance of civil infrastructure.
- Identify defects, deterioration, or safety risks in structures and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure timely closure of maintenance issues and defects.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, international standards, and client requirements.
- Verify quality of materials, workmanship, and construction methods used in repair works.
- Maintain inspection records, checklists, and non-conformance reports (NCRs).
Safety Monitoring
- Ensure adherence to HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) regulations and Saudi standards.
- Identify potential safety hazards in civil works and ensure mitigation measures are implemented.
- Participate in safety audits, toolbox talks, and incident investigations.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain daily inspection reports and progress updates.
- Record defects, maintenance logs, and inspection findings.
- Assist in preparing weekly/monthly reports for the Resident Engineer / O&M Manager.
Coordination & Stakeholder Liaison
- Coordinate with Resident Engineers, contractors, subcontractors, and O&M teams.
- Assist in resolving technical issues on-site.
- Support audits and inspections by clients or regulatory authorities.
Education
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
Experience
- 5–10 years of experience in civil works within metro/railway infrastructure projects.
- Minimum 3–5 years in Operations & Maintenance (O&M) environment preferred.
- Experience in Middle East/GCC (preferably Saudi Arabia) is an advantage.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of:
- + Concrete structures, bridges, tunnels, and station buildings.
- + Track-related civil works (ballasted/ballastless track structures).
- + Structural inspection and maintenance practices.
- Familiarity with international standards (e.g., ASTM, BS, EN) and Saudi regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and reports.

Work Environment
