Role Overview
Join WSP’s Structures Supervision team as an experienced Resident Engineer.
Lead site supervision activities and coordinate stakeholders on major structural and infrastructure projects across the UAE.
Support successful delivery of high-quality construction works.
Construction Supervision
- Lead construction supervision activities for the assigned project.
- Establish a construction management plan and consistent contract administration procedures.
- Arrange, chair, and record kick-off, progress, and management meetings.
- Review contractor programs, resources, cash flow, and construction progress.
Technical and Safety Controls
- Establish inspection approval, testing, and commissioning procedures under the contract.
- Review the contractor’s HSE plan and ensure site safety procedures are followed.
- Implement QMS requirements and conduct regular audits.
- Coordinate with service and other authorities to avoid impacts on project progress.
Contracts and Completion
- Manage contractual correspondence with the client and contractor.
- Certify interim and final payments after full review.
- Prepare substantial completion reports and identify outstanding requirements.
- Issue taking-over and defects liability certificates when required.
Education and Experience
- BEng or BSc (Hons) in Civil or Structural Engineering, or an equivalent qualification, is required.
- At least 20 years of experience managing major building projects is required.
- Relevant project experience includes high-rise developments, luxury hotels, large residential complexes, and commercial buildings.
- Prior UAE experience with a consulting background is required.
Technical and Language Skills
- Comprehensive proficiency in discipline-specific software is required.
- Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English is mandatory.
