Position Overview

The research group of Prof. Taoufik Hmidi at NYU Abu Dhabi is seeking a Research Scientist.

The role focuses on partial differential equations, mathematical fluid dynamics, and related areas of mathematical physics.

Research Areas

  • Research interests include global well-posedness and long-time behavior of solutions to nonlinear PDEs.
  • The group studies coherent structures in vortex dynamics, KAM theory, dynamical systems, and control theory for PDEs.
  • Additional areas include hyperbolic systems, kinetic equations, and mathematical problems arising in plasma physics.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct independent research in PDEs, mathematical fluid dynamics, KAM theory, or closely related areas.
  • Collaborate on research in mathematical physics and related fields.
  • Participate actively in research seminars, working groups, and other scientific activities.

Requirements

  • Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Mathematics.
  • Applicants must have at least six years of research experience.
  • Candidates should have an excellent scientific background and a strong research record.
