The Role
Work on programs including Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems, Canadian Surface Combatant, aeronautical navigation, and Royal Canadian Navy ISTAR.
Develop new capabilities, enhance existing capabilities, and deliver solutions to customers.
Design, implement, and maintain specialized computer systems.
Networking
- Configure and manage Cisco switches and firewalls, including Cisco IOS CLI, Catalyst switches, and Firepower firewalls.
- Implement STIG hardening and structured cabling with optical interfaces and twisted-pair wiring.
- Troubleshoot Ethernet networks using OSI model and IP TCP/UDP networking knowledge.
Linux Administration
- Manage Linux filesystems, permissions, kernel configuration, networking, and users and groups.
- Install, configure, and support Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Oracle Linux, and Rocky Linux.
- Implement automation with Terraform, Ansible, and SaltStack, and write Bash shell scripts.
Systems and Infrastructure
- Install and configure wall displays, AV switching and distribution, surveillance cameras, and recording systems.
- Implement and troubleshoot DNS, NTP, SIEM, logging, event forwarding, audit logging, and alerting.
- Install and configure NetApp storage arrays and administer iSCSI and SMB/NFS volumes.
- Manage vSphere and vCenter clusters.
- Configure group policies, write PowerShell scripts, and harden Windows desktops to STIG standards.
Job Requirements
- Degree or diploma in computer systems, computer science, information systems, or a related field.
- At least four years of relevant professional experience.
- Ability to work in air-gapped environments and with highly secure, isolated systems.
- Experience with multi-vendor, heterogeneous system environments.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform hands-on hardware installation, configuration, and support.
- Strong problem-solving, documentation, and diagramming skills.
Security Requirements
- Must obtain and hold SECRET-level security clearance.
- Must pass the security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program.
Compensation
- The compensation range is $85,000 to $125,000 annually, with the specific offer based on qualifications and experience.
