Role Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Originate and develop SME and commercial financing relationships across the UAE.
• Build and manage a portfolio of SME clients seeking working capital and trade-related financing.
• Generate opportunities through personal networks and lending or origination platform partners.
• Meet prospective clients to assess their businesses, financing needs, trading activity, and financial position.
• Prepare financing proposals for internal approval.
• Assess commercial and financial information and identify transaction and counterparty risks.
• Partner with the credit team throughout financing assessments and approvals.
• Manage lending platform and origination partner relationships.
• Manage clients throughout the financing lifecycle and identify opportunities to deepen relationships.
• Maintain a quality financing pipeline while meeting credit and risk standards.
• Support development of the SME financing proposition, processes, and go-to-market approach.
• Meet annual origination, portfolio, and revenue targets.

Experience and Qualifications

• Five to eight years of relevant experience in SME banking, business banking, commercial banking, or SME financing.
• Approximately three to five years of UAE market experience.
• Strong understanding of the UAE SME landscape across banking, financing platforms, or microfinance institutions.
• Direct experience originating and managing SME and commercial financing facilities.
• Experience with financing requirements typically of USD 1–2 million or below.
• Strong understanding of working capital financing for trade and cross-border businesses.
• Established UAE SME network and client portfolio supporting business development.
• Approximately 30–40 relevant client relationships or prospects is desirable.
