Enhancing community care options for Albertans continues to be a key priority for Recovery Alberta. Our goal is to provide high-quality diverse community, home, and individual Mental Health and Addiction services and to support the long-term mental health and wellness of Assertive Outreach (AOS) clients and their families. To support this goal, the Peace River North Zone Assertive Outreach Services (NZ AOS) department has an exciting opportunity for a Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) with the Assertive Outreach Services Team. This is a temporary 12-month maternity leave opportunity. NZ AOS co-ordinates, plans, delivers and evaluates a provincewide network of Recovery Alberta programs and contracted services. We work with a common purpose: to promote understanding and compassion, to encourage healthy behaviour, attitudes, and to help all Albertans achieve well-being throughout their lives. As an RPN or RN, you will be a member of an inter-disciplinary team and provide a range of nursing supports to AOS clients who have severe and persistent mental illness through a recovery-oriented framework. This is a community outreach position and provides service to clients in their community, home and clinic where appropriate. Services you offer may include psychosocial assessment, treatment / recovery planning, physical health assessment, medication management and administration, collaborating with psychiatrists, and other nursing duties as required. This position also involves consultation and collaboration with interprofessional team members and outside agencies involved in the client’s recovery plan. As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of Recovery Alberta. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit holders will be paid $40.76 - $55.79 per hour. Upon being entered into the register as a Registered Nurse, the rate of pay will be adjusted in accordance with the UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii), as applicable.
