Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily operations of the Operating Theatre
- Demonstrate advanced knowledge of orthopedic surgical procedures
- Ensure availability and proper management of orthopedic implants, power tools, navigation systems, and specialized surgical equipment
- Monitor adherence to infection prevention and control protocols
- Ensure completion of WHO Surgical Safety Checklist before, during, and after surgery
- Supervise, mentor, and evaluate OT nurses and support staff
- Prepare staff duty rosters and manage leave schedules
- Coordinate with surgeons, anesthetists, nursing teams, CSSD, and other departments for seamless surgical services
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSc Nursing)
- Valid UAE Nursing License (DOH, DHA, or MOHAP) or eligibility
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Minimum 3 years of Operation Theatre experience in the UAE
- Minimum 3 years of hands on experience in Orthopedic Operating Theatre

Job Summary
- The Registered Nurse (OT) Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Operating Theatre, ensuring efficient workflow, patient safety, compliance with healthcare regulations, and effective utilization of resources.
- The role requires extensive experience in orthopedic surgical procedures and the ability to supervise OT staff while maintaining the highest standards of infection prevention, patient care, and operational excellence.
Roles And Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily operations of the Operating Theatre.
- Demonstrate advanced knowledge of orthopedic surgical procedures.
- Ensure the availability and proper management of orthopedic implants, power tools, navigation systems, and specialized surgical equipment.
- Verify implant documentation, inventory, and traceability in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Assist in planning complex orthopedic procedures when required.
- Ensure compliance with UAE healthcare regulations, hospital policies, and international patient safety standards.
- Monitor adherence to infection prevention and control protocols.
- Ensure completion of WHO Surgical Safety Checklist before, during, and after surgery.
- Conduct regular audits on OT practices, documentation, and infection control.
- Report and investigate incidents, near misses, and adverse events.
- Supervise, mentor, and evaluate OT nurses and support staff.
- Conduct orientation and competency assessments for new employees.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSc Nursing).
- Valid UAE Nursing License (DOH, DHA, or MOHAP) or eligibility.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
- Additional certification in Perioperative Nursing is an advantage.
- Minimum 3 years of Operation Theatre experience in the UAE.
- Minimum 3 years of hands on experience in Orthopedic Operating Theatre.
- Previous supervisory or team leadership experience is preferred.
- Experience with joint replacement, trauma, spine, arthroscopy, and sports medicine procedures is highly desirable.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent knowledge of orthopedic surgical instruments and implants.
- Sound understanding of OT infection prevention and sterilization standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem solving and decision making abilities.
- Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast paced surgical environment.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Compensation
- Pay: AED4,376.39 AED11,303.54 per month
