Job Summary

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-treatment patient assessments, including vital signs, medical history review, and screening questionnaires.
• Establish and maintain IV access for ketamine infusions.
• Monitor patients continuously during infusion (cardiac monitoring, pulse oximetry, blood pressure, respiratory status, and level of consciousness).
• Prepare and administer ketamine infusions per physician order and clinic
• protocol.
• Recognize and respond to adverse reactions or complications (e.g., hypertension, respiratory depression, emergence reactions).
• Administer emergency medications and perform advanced life support interventions as needed.
• Document all care accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Provide patient education before and after treatment regarding expectations, side effects, and discharge instructions
• Ensure proper medication handling, storage, and inventory management in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Main infusion suite equipment and emergency readiness (crash cart checks, oxygen supply, suction equipment, etc.).
• Participate in quality assurance and safety initiatives.
• Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse (RN) license and current registration
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Emergency Room nursing or a related field
• Strong clinical knowledge and skills in infusion therapy and patient care
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Current BLS and ACLS certification is required
