Role Overview
The Regional Plant Controller is accountable for the integrity, accuracy, and completeness of operations financial results and safeguarding of plant assets.
The role partners with senior operations directors and plant management teams across multiple facilities to provide timely financial leadership.
Financial Reporting and Controls
- Own accurate and timely plant financial results in accordance with IFRS and company processes.
- Provide financial guidance, communicate accounting issues, and present monthly EBITDA results to operations leadership.
- Support capital expenditure requests, validate projected costs and savings, and perform post-expenditure reviews.
- Ensure accurate plant finance reporting and compliance with control procedures, corporate policies, and inventory cycle-count requirements.
- Support internal and external audits and complete ad hoc reporting requests.
Forecasting and Business Analysis
- Manage weekly, monthly, and quarterly latest-estimate forecasting and identify financial risks and opportunities.
- Lead annual Operating Plan development for manufacturing facilities in the region.
- Identify process improvements, analyze financial data, and support plant-level decision making and cost savings.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Staff management experience and strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
- Strong analytical, strategic problem-solving, accountability, initiative, organization, and attention-to-detail skills are required.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel, financial modeling, financial analysis, and ERP system experience are required.
- Knowledge of accounting systems, controls, compliance procedures, US GAAP, IFRS, and Sarbanes-Oxley is required.
- Consumer goods, multiple-site or remote-site management, manufacturing, costing, and continuous-improvement experience are required.
Education and Experience
- A bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
- A CPA, CMA, or equivalent designation is listed as a qualification.
- The role requires a minimum of five years at Controller level.
Compensation
- The listed pay range is $153K-$164K CAD plus eligibility for performance-based bonuses.
- The position is classified as exempt.
