Role Overview
The Regional Plant Controller is accountable for the integrity, accuracy, and completeness of operations financial results.
The role safeguards plant assets and provides financial leadership to plant management teams across multiple facilities in the region.
Financial Reporting and Controls
- Oversee multiple plant financial results and timely reporting under IFRS and company procedures.
- Provide financial guidance, communicate reporting issues, and present monthly EBITDA results.
- Guide capital expenditure requests, validate projections, and perform post-expenditure audits.
- Ensure accurate plant financial reporting and compliance with controls, policies, and inventory cycle count procedures.
- Support internal and external audits and complete ad hoc reporting requests.
Budgeting and Forecasting
- Manage weekly, monthly, and quarterly latest-estimate forecast processes and identify risks and opportunities.
- Lead development of the annual Operating Plan for manufacturing facilities in the region.
Business Analysis
- Identify process improvements that deliver financial benefits or mitigate financial risks.
- Analyze financial data to support plant-level decision-making.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
- CPA, CMA, or equivalent designation is required.
- At least five years of experience at Controller level is required.
- Manufacturing and costing experience and ERP system experience are required.
Required Skills and Knowledge
- Staff management, communication, analytical, strategic problem-solving, accountability, initiative, and independent working skills are required.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills and financial modeling experience are required.
- Knowledge of financial accounting systems, controls, compliance procedures, US GAAP, IFRS, and Sarbanes-Oxley is required.
- Ability to manage multiple sites or remote site operations is required.
Additional Experience
- SAP experience and consumer goods experience are preferred.
- Continuous improvement and cost savings involvement are expected.
Compensation
- The stated pay range is $162,000–$175,000 CAD plus eligibility for performance-based bonuses.
