Role Overview
The Regional Medical Advisor provides medical and scientific support, education, and training across business functions and to external healthcare stakeholders.
The role is based in Riyadh and reports to the Senior Manager of the Metabolic Field Team.
The position supports scientific dialogue and strategic initiatives for patients with cardiometabolic diseases in Saudi Arabia.
Key Accountabilities
- Build and update scientific and medical knowledge of the cardiometabolic product portfolio and competitor products.
- Develop KOL-tailored medical engagement plans grounded in scientific insights and medical priorities.
- Establish and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders and emerging experts.
- Facilitate symposia, meetings, and educational seminars for healthcare providers.
- Deliver presentations at local meetings and external conferences.
- Identify academic and professional collaboration opportunities and develop proposals for local initiatives.
- Contribute to medico-marketing strategy and local business plans while supporting cross-functional alignment.
- Ensure compliance with business ethics, local regulations, medical governance, and safety-reporting procedures.
- Respond to unsolicited healthcare-professional requests for product medical information.
Skills and Qualifications
- At least 2 years of medical affairs experience in the pharmaceutical industry within a multinational organization, or a Bachelor's degree in Medicine.
- Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy is required.
- Bachelor's degree in Medicine is described elsewhere as a plus.
- Strong communication skills, professionalism, dedication, and scientific dialogue capability.
- Excellent written and spoken English and Arabic.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and network with local healthcare interests.
- Strong project management skills.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in the Diabetes and Obesity therapy area is advantageous.
Medical Department
The Medical department partners with stakeholders to generate, interpret, and communicate scientific data while ensuring compliance.
The department works cross-functionally to support business growth and expand into new therapy areas.
