Regional Development Coordinator GoulburnSalary: $116,413 - $140,849 (Plus Superannuation)Work Type: Fixed term (external applicants) / Temporary Assignment (internal DJSIR employees) / Secondment (VPS employees external to DJSIR) until 3 November 2027Usual hours of work: Full time (flexibility may be available)Usual work location: Shepparton (flexibility may be available)The RoleReporting to the Manager Regional Development, the Regional Development Coordinator is responsible for developing, coordinating, and implementing a range of development initiatives for communities and businesses in the region to identify and facilitate place-based solutions to support enhanced liveability and prosperity in regional communities.Main accountabilities:Utilise a significant understanding of the local region and its community, industry, and government context, local issues, and their context within the regional, State and national setting, as well as understanding local trends, opportunities, and risks to lead delivery of governmental priorities.Lead integrated investment in place by understanding, influencing, and negotiating with key internal and external stakeholders and partners by developing and maintaining strategic relationships and networks with Federal, State and local government, community organisations, business, and industry.Lead investment attraction, economic development, and the delivery of a range of DJSIR/RDV industry and recovery initiatives across the region, utilising commercial acumen and a sound understanding of regional economies, workforce, geography, stakeholders and transport links to identify, leverage and create regional development opportunities.The TeamThe position of Regional Development Coordinator forms a part of the Hume branch within the Regional Development Victoria group.We work with businesses, communities and across government to deliver economic growth, create jobs, build resilience, and support economic recovery in our regions.About YouThe successful candidate will ideally have the following skills and experience:Specialist Expertise: Sound understanding of the key industry and economic drivers, and knowledge of Government policies and programs, current and emerging trends specifically related to rural and regional communities and industry.Project Management: Consults, liaises with and influences key stakeholders; produces detailed project plans where objectives are clearly defined and action steps for achieving them are clearly specified.Stakeholder Management: Identifies issues in common for one or more stakeholders and uses this knowledge to build mutually beneficial partnerships; identifies and responds to stakeholder's underlying needs.Further InformationFor a confidential discussion, please contact Tim Russell, Manager, Regional Development Goulburn on 0472 871 303 or tim.russell@rdv.vic.gov.auThe Department is committed to creating and maintaining a child safe organisation.
