Role Overview
Owns the accounting and financial reporting function for the Group’s UAE entities.
Reports to the Global Finance Director and supports accurate books, timely close, management reporting, controls, and regional operations.
The role covers Group entities in the UAE and works with the in-country accounting team and outsourced finance providers.
Location and Employment
- Based in Dubai, UAE, with remote work until the Dubai office is established.
- Employment type is full-time and permanent.
Accounting and Financial Reporting
- Own day-to-day accounting and month-end close for UAE entities under IFRS and Group accounting policies.
- Prepare consolidated financial reports, entity reporting, intercompany reconciliations, elimination entries, and supporting schedules.
- Provide analysis of results, variances, cash movements, and management issues.
- Review cash, receivables, payables, accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, payroll, and intercompany balances.
Compliance and Audit
- Oversee routine UAE tax and regulatory compliance with external advisers where appropriate.
- Coordinate statutory audits and ensure complete supporting documentation is available.
- Coordinate transfer pricing and intercompany charging matters and escalate material issues.
Processes, Systems, and Controls
- Improve close, accounting, and reporting processes to increase speed, accuracy, and control.
- Maintain accounting procedures, Group policy application, internal controls, approval workflows, segregation of duties, and documentation.
- Support ERP implementation, integrations, chart of accounts standardisation, and finance automation.
Cash, Banking, and Partnership
- Manage payment planning, cash requirements, banking administration, payment execution, mandates, signatories, and bank requests.
- Oversee payroll accounting and support vendor, invoicing, commercial, and cost-control processes.
- Serve as the main finance contact for regional stakeholders.
Team Leadership
- Lead and review the local accounting team, set priorities, and develop consistent ways of working.
- Manage outsourced accounting and finance service providers against scope, timelines, and quality standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- At least 8 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Strong IFRS, reporting, reconciliation, intercompany accounting, consolidation, ERP, and advanced Excel experience.
- Fluent English and the ability to work independently in an international environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- ACCA, CPA, CA, or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
- Technology, software, digital platform, Big 4, mid-tier audit, cross-border, transfer pricing, or regional consolidation experience.
- Familiarity with UAE tax and free zone requirements.
