Role Overview
The Reception and Reservation Manager manages restaurant reception and reservation operations.
The role leads the reception team, coordinates guest flow, and ensures service and standard operating procedures are followed.
Management and Guest Flow
- Manage, train, schedule, mentor, and monitor reception and reservation staff.
- Welcome guests, escort them to tables, manage waitlists and walk-ins, and provide menus and specials.
- Handle group bookings, VIPs, special requests, no-shows, cancellations, complaints, and guest feedback.
Reservations and Coordination
- Handle reservation communications by phone, email, and online platforms.
- Update table layouts, floor plans, reservation records, guest profiles, and preference notes.
- Coordinate with culinary, service, runners, and housekeeping teams for table readiness and guest flow.
- Monitor reservation trends and adjust shift strategies or floor plans.
Reporting and Standards
- Generate daily, weekly, and monthly reports on reservations and guest activity.
- Maintain a clean and welcoming reception area and inspect dining facilities for maintenance.
