About the Role

  • OWNRSCLB is consolidating native iOS (Swift) and Android (Kotlin) apps onto a single React Native codebase.
  • Looking for a React Native engineer to maintain native apps through launch, then lead migration to React Native over 6 12 months.
  • Sole mobile engineer with real ownership and impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Immediately take ownership of existing Swift (iOS) and Kotlin (Android) apps; resolve critical security issues (Android keystore rotation, static AES IV, cleartext traffic flag).
  • Ensure both native apps are stable, tested, and fit for soft launch; coordinate with backend and QA engineers.
  • Define React Native migration strategy: phased approach, feature parity checklist, shared component library, testing plan.
  • Post launch, lead incremental migration to a single React Native codebase; own architecture (navigation, state management, native modules).
  • Champion mobile security best practices: certificate pinning, secure storage, ProGuard obfuscation, root/jailbreak detection.
  • Own App Store (iOS) and Google Play (Android) submission, review, and release processes.
  • Monitor and improve app performance: image loading, memory management, list rendering, network efficiency.

Must Have

  • 3+ years of production React Native experience; shipped apps on both iOS and Android from a single RN codebase.
  • Sufficient native iOS (Swift) experience to read, maintain, and fix existing Swift codebase through transition.
  • Sufficient native Android (Kotlin) experience for maintenance level competence; critical security fixes require native code changes.
  • Understanding of mobile security: code signing, certificate management, secure storage, OWASP Mobile Top 10.
  • Experience with App Store and Google Play submission, review guidelines, provisioning profiles, and release management.
  • Experience with state management (Redux, Zustand, or equivalent).
  • React Native with TypeScript is the target stack.

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with Expo ecosystem and managed vs bare workflow.
  • Experience bridging native iOS/Android functionality into React Native.
  • Awareness of App Store / Play Store requirements for UAE distributed apps.
  • Experience with real estate or marketplace apps (property listings, search).
  • Firebase push notifications via FCM.

Interview Process

  • Stage 1: Portfolio review – show shipped apps; walk through one React Native codebase.
  • Stage 2: Take home paid task (2 3 hours) – build a small React Native screen against a mock API.
  • Stage 3: Final conversation with CEO – team fit, transition plan discussion, compensation.

Salary

  • AED 15,000/month + performance based bonus.
