Summary

Ellis Medicine is seeking an experienced Radiology Physician Assistant to join our Interventional Radiology team in Schenectady, New York.

This is an excellent opportunity for a clinically experienced PA with a strong procedural background who is looking for meaningful involvement in image-guided procedures and the opportunity to work closely with Interventional Radiologists, vascular surgery, and a multidisciplinary clinical team.

Candidates must be both a Physician Assistant and a licensed Radiologic Technologist.

Broad range of image-guided procedures

Clinical Responsibilities

The Radiology PA will work collaboratively with Interventional Radiologists and the multidisciplinary Radiology team to provide procedural and patient care.

Responsibilities may include:

Performing and assisting with image-guided procedures within the APP's scope of practice

Vascular access procedures

Port insertion and removal

Central line insertion and removal

Hemodialysis catheter procedures

Paracentesis

Thoracentesis

PleurX catheter placement

Ultrasound-guided biopsies and aspirations

Abscess drainage

Bone marrow biopsy

Fluoroscopy

Gastrostomy, jejunostomy, and gastrojejunostomy tube exchanges and management

Biliary, cholecystostomy, and nephrostomy tube exchanges

Lumbar puncture

Ultrasound-guided joint aspiration

Suprapubic catheter insertion and exchanges

Pre- and post-procedure patient evaluation and management

Patient education and informed consent

Collaboration with referring physicians and multidisciplinary clinical teams

The current IR program includes a significant PA-supported procedural component, including vascular access, fluid drainage, image-guided biopsies and aspirations, tube/drain management, lumbar puncture, joint aspiration and suprapubic catheter procedures.

Qualifications

Current NCCPA certification

Licensed (or eligible) to practice in New York State

Current New York State Radiologic Technologist license

Prior Radiology or Interventional Radiology experience required

Strong procedural skills and clinical judgment

Experience with image-guided procedures preferred

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment

Commitment to high-quality, patient-centered care

Competitive guaranteed base salary of $143k-$222k

The posted salary reflects the starting range of total compensation and does not include productivity bonuses incentives related to quality and performance, extra shift incentives, and other forms of cash compensation as applicable to the position. Please note that this salary range is provided in accordance with State law and is subject to variation due to the factors noted above.
