JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Demonstrates ability and appropriate technical skills when administering imaging procedures in accordance with department policies and procedures and /or as needed by physician/provider. Functions in more than one modality including surgery.
• Compassionately gives patient care to provide comfort and well-being to the patient acknowledging physiological and psychological needs according to policy and procedures governing department.
• Prioritizes and performs duties to complete daily assignments in an appropriate and timely manner.
• Completes documentation thoroughly, legibly, and accurately according to department guidelines and in a timely manner.
• Actively participates in charge capture/cost containment activities according to specialty area expectations.
• Ensures that designated work area is clean and stocked with supplies on an ongoing basis. Operates equipment correctly and keeps Supervisor informed of any needed repairs.
• Participates in orientation, education, and self-development, including student training.
• Searches for better ways of doing things by recommending and/or initiating suggestions for improvement of departmental operations and/or services provided.
• Works well with others and supports team efforts. Provides quality service to all customers (Internal and External).
• Demonstrates flexibility and responsibility in accepting work assignments. Responds positively to changing circumstances.
• Practices radiation safety in accordance with ALARA principles for protection.
• Shows proficiency in use of the Johnson Memorial Health (JMH) and Radiology Information system pertaining to job specific functions.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

• Conducts all activities in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, standards, and Johnson Memorial Health policies and procedures including Blood and Body Substance Precautions.
• EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:
• Two years post-high school education training in an AMA approved School of Radiology. Must have current registry with American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) and current Indiana Radiologic Technologist General license; or must be registry eligible with AART registry and Indiana General Radiologic Technologist license to be obtained within 90 days of hire. BLS or CPR for Healthcare Providers certification required.
