At ENVEA, we design advanced environmental monitoring and sensing solutions used worldwide to help industries improve processes and reduce emissions. We're looking for an experienced Embedded Software Engineer to join our international R&D team, working with colleagues in the UK and Germany to develop the next generation of environmental monitoring technology.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Electronic Engineering, Embedded Systems, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline.
  • Strong commercial experience developing embedded software in C/C++.
  • Experience with embedded microcontrollers and real-time embedded systems.
  • Good understanding of embedded hardware, electronic schematics and hardware/software integration.
  • Experience using Git and modern software development practices.
  • Strong debugging, testing and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work within a multidisciplinary engineering team.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with STM32, Renesas, Microchip or Atmel microcontrollers.
  • Knowledge of MISRA C, CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
  • Experience with embedded Linux or RTOS.
  • Understanding of functional safety or safety-critical software (IEC 61508/SIL).
  • Familiarity with FPGA/VHDL development.
  • Experience using Jira, Confluence or similar Agile development tools.
  • Python, MATLAB or LabVIEW experience.

The Role

You will develop embedded software for sophisticated sensing and monitoring products, taking projects from concept through to production. Working closely with hardware engineers and scientists, you'll:

Design, develop and test embedded software for new products.

Support existing products throughout their lifecycle.

Collaborate on hardware and software integration.

Review, optimise and maintain high-quality code.

Produce technical documentation and test reports.

Contribute to product verification, validation and continuous improvement.

Work with an international R&D team to deliver innovative solutions.
