Role Overview
Point72 Internal Alpha Capture develops scalable quantitative equity trading signals using rigorous research, machine learning, public and proprietary data, and substantial computing resources.
The team is seeking exceptional students for quantitative developer internships during Winter 2027, from January through April.

About the Team
Point72 Internal Alpha Capture develops scalable quantitative equity trading signals using rigorous research, machine learning, public and proprietary data, and substantial computing resources.
The team is seeking exceptional students for quantitative developer internships during Winter 2027, from January through April.
Interns will receive comprehensive training and mentorship while helping develop novel signals with potential production impact.
What You’ll Do
- Build and enhance reliable, low-latency Java components, including messaging handlers and market data parsers, within an equities trading platform.
- Design and implement features for trade execution workflows and translate research signals into production trading logic.
- Optimize high-throughput ETL pipelines, persistent and in-memory caches, and SQL databases for real-time market data processing.
- Write unit and integration tests and automate testing to ensure correctness under live market conditions.
- Improve research and trading tools and infrastructure, including monitoring, logging, and alerting for production systems.
- Participate in training and mentorship on production trading systems and systematic strategies.
- Own projects from design through deployment, working independently and with a small team.
