Located in Rochester, NY and founded in 1916, G&H | GS Optics specializes in the custom design and manufacture of precision polymer optics for use in the biomedical, healthcare diagnostics, machine vision and analytical instrument markets, as well as military and civilian night-vision and visible-range sighting applications. In addition to the highly automated injection molding process, it has well established in-house capabilities to provide custom designed diamond turned and injection molded prototypes, thin film anti reflective and reflective coatings and integrated optical assembly solutions.

The Quality Technician is responsible for providing support and qualifying in-process production parts for manufacture following existing test protocols and procedures.

This role works closely with production process technicians to start up and maintain a process for producing parts with consistent and acceptable yields.

Required to perform process compliance audits to ensure conformance to company procedures.

• Perform dimensional measurements with manual/hand gauges (calipers, micrometers, etc) and computer-controlled gauges (Mitutoyo touch CMM, Zeiss scanning CMM, OGP multisensory CMM, Zeiss profilometer)
• Perform optical non-contact inspection using interferometer and optical bench metrology methods
• Perform visual inspection of optical parts per MIL PRF-13830B to identify nonconformance according to documented parameters
