Quality Inspector, Mechanical Assemblies

We’re looking for talented, committed individuals to join our team as we push onward toward certifying the Joby aircraft, scaling our manufacturing, and launching our initial commercial service.

Joby Aviation is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Control Inspector, Inspection Team to execute hands-on inspection activities across our manufacturing operations.

Reporting directly to the Quality Control Supervisor, this role is critical to ensuring the safety, reliability, and strict conformity of our aircraft components and assemblies.

Depending on your technical background and location, you may be screened into functional areas including, but not limited to:

• Receiving Inspection

• Dimensional

Please Note: This requisition focuses on standard visual and mechanical Quality Control inspections.

Other positions, such as, Specialized Nondestructive Testing (NDT) and highly complex Dimensional roles (such as Dimensional QETs utilizing advanced CMMs) are handled through separate specialized job postings.

• Perform receiving, in-process, and final physical inspections of parts, sub-assemblies, and final aircraft assemblies.
• Verify physical characteristics, dimensions, and configurations against complex engineering drawings, specifications, CAD models, and work instructions.
• Utilize standard mechanical inspection tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, height gauges, pins, and thread gauges) to ensure adherence to tight tolerances.
