QSP Stormwater Inspector

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Geology, Construction Management, or a related field.

• Current Qualified SWPPP Practitioner (QSP) certification.
• Ability to work safely in active construction environments.
• Ability to perform field inspections in varying terrain and weather conditions.
• Minimum 3 years of experience performing stormwater compliance inspections on transportation, infrastructure, utility, or heavy civil construction projects.
• Authorization to work in the United States.

• OSHA 10-Hour or OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Training.
• Experience with Caltrans construction administration procedures and documentation requirements.
• Experience supporting transportation infrastructure construction projects.
• Experience working on Caltrans construction projects strongly preferred.
• Working knowledge of the California Construction General Permit, SWPPP and WPCP implementation requirements, erosion and sediment control BMPs, and construction stormwater compliance practices.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, SWPPPs, WPCPs, and contract documents.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment in field environments.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic inspection/reporting systems.
• Valid California driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
• Ability and willingness to travel regularly to active construction sites throughout Humboldt and Del Norte Counties .

This position is primarily field-based and requires regular travel from GHD's Eureka office to project sites throughout Humboldt and Del Norte Counties.

Work may involve walking on uneven terrain, climbing slopes, working near active construction operations and heavy equipment, and performing inspections in varying weather conditions.

Work schedules may vary depending on construction activities, project demands, and storm events.

Occasional early morning, evening, weekend, or weather-responsive inspections may be required to meet project and regulatory requirements.

Hourly Rate: $34.00-$57.50 per hour based on experience
