- The QHSE Engineer ensures that all projects comply with quality standards, health and safety regulations, and environmental requirements.
- This role involves implementing and monitoring QHSE policies, conducting audits, and promoting a culture of safety and quality across all project sites.
- Develop, implement, and maintain QHSE management systems in compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards.
- Ensure adherence to UAE regulatory requirements and client-specific QHSE standards.
- Conduct hazard identification and risk assessments for all project activities.
- Prepare and update Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Method Statements and Risk Assessments.
- Monitor site activities to ensure compliance with safety procedures and permit-to-work systems.
- Review and verify material inspection reports, test certificates, and quality documentation.
- Conduct internal audits and inspections to ensure compliance with project specifications and standards.
- Coordinate with QA/QC teams for corrective and preventive actions.
- Organize safety induction programs for new employees and subcontractors.
- Conduct toolbox talks and QHSE awareness sessions regularly.
- Promote continuous improvement in safety and quality culture.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses; prepare detailed reports and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain records of incidents and ensure timely reporting to authorities as per UAE law and company standards.
- Maintain QHSE documentation including risk assessments, inspection reports, and audit findings.
- Prepare weekly/monthly QHSE performance reports for management and clients.
- Ensure proper documentation for authority approvals and compliance audits.
Education
Any Bachelor’s or Diploma degree in Engineering or Fire & Safety.
Experience
Minimum 5–7 years in QHSE roles within MEP contracting or construction in UAE.
Certifications
NEBOSH IGC, IOSH, or equivalent mandatory; ISO Lead Auditor preferred.
Technical Knowledge
UAE HSE regulations, authority requirements (Dubai Municipality, ADNOC, etc.), and international standards.
Skills
- Strong leadership skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and reporting abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office and QHSE software tools.
