QC Engineer (Civil)

The QC Engineer – Civil will be responsible for implementing and monitoring project quality requirements for civil works associated with HV substations and power transmission projects.

The position will ensure that construction activities, materials and workmanship comply with approved drawings, project specifications, Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), method statements, client requirements and applicable quality standards.

• Conduct daily inspections of civil construction activities to ensure compliance with approved IFC/RFC drawings, specifications, method statements and ITPs.
• Raise and coordinate Requests for Inspection (RFIs/WIRs) with consultants and clients and ensure timely inspection and approval of completed works.
• Coordinate all required inspections and tests and maintain inspection records in accordance with approved ITPs.
• Inspect incoming construction materials and verify compliance with approved material submittals, specifications and project requirements.
• Review and assist in preparing material submittals, vendor approvals, method statements, ITPs and inspection checklists.
• Inspect civil activities associated with substations, including earthworks, foundations, reinforced concrete, structural works, buildings, trenches, duct banks and associated infrastructure works.
• Witness required site and laboratory tests and verify that test results comply with contractual and technical requirements.
• Identify non-conforming work and raise NCRs where construction activities deviate from approved drawings, specifications or quality requirements.
