Company Description

  • Hengyuan Refining Company Berhad (HRC) is a long established petroleum refining company in Malaysia, majority owned by Malaysia Hengyuan International Limited.
  • HRC manages and operates a refinery in Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan, with a licensed production capacity of 156,000 barrels per day.

Role Description

  • The QAQC Inspector is a full time, on site role based at the Port Dickson refinery.
  • Responsible for carrying out inspections on equipment, materials, and work processes to ensure compliance with company standards, regulatory requirements, and industry codes.
  • Reviews and verifies documentation such as inspection reports, test results, welding records, and quality control plans.
  • Records non conformances with clear recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Monitors construction, maintenance, and turnaround activities, performs welding and fabrication inspections, and coordinates with engineers, contractors, and operations teams.
  • Supports audits, participates in risk assessments, and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Skills in Quality Control and Quality Assurance, including applying procedures, standards, and best practices in a refinery or heavy industrial environment.
  • Skills in Quality Management, such as implementing quality plans, maintaining documentation, and supporting audits and continuous improvement activities.
  • Skills in Inspection, including visual and dimensional inspections of equipment, materials, and works, and familiarity with relevant industrial and safety codes.
  • Skills in Welding Inspection, including evaluating weld quality, interpreting welding procedures and drawings, and understanding common welding defects and test methods.
  • Relevant technical qualification or diploma in engineering (mechanical, materials, or related field); certifications in quality or welding inspection (e.g., CSWIP, AWS, API) are an advantage.
  • Experience in refinery, petrochemical, or heavy industrial projects, with strong awareness of HSE requirements and safe work practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and standards, with strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and contractors on site.
