Supervise QC inspectors, coordinate inspection and test plan execution, and ensure consistent application of quality standards and procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily QC inspector activities across all disciplines.
- Ensure inspections, tests, and hold points follow approved Inspection and Test Plans.
- Review daily QC inspection reports and ensure timely, accurate documentation.
- Coordinate hold point notifications and inspection scheduling with client and third-party inspectors.
- Support the QC Manager with NCR processing and corrective actions.
- Conduct quality walkdowns and spot-check inspections across active work fronts.
- Verify calibration and control of inspection and test equipment.
- Coordinate training and technical guidance for QC inspectors.
- Liaise with construction supervision to resolve quality-related work-front issues.
- Support quality documentation for handover dossiers.
- Report quality performance, trends, and issues to the QC Manager.
- Support internal quality audits and readiness for client and third-party audits.
Performance Indicators
Number and severity of non-conformances.
Inspection schedule and hold-point compliance.
First-time inspection pass rate across disciplines.
Timely closure of NCRs and punch-list items.
Quality of QC team documentation and reporting.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Leadership, attention to detail, analytical thinking, communication, decision making, and accountability.
- Quality Management Systems knowledge, including ISO 9001.
- Inspection and Test Plan coordination.
- Multidiscipline inspection standards awareness.
- NCR and corrective action management.
- QC team supervision and scheduling.
- Ability to read multidisciplinary technical drawings and specifications.
Experience and Education
- 8–10 years of quality control experience on EPC or industrial construction projects, including supervisory experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- QC or inspection certification is preferred.
