Role Overview
The QA/QC Specialist will provide quality assurance and quality control support on assigned functional areas of a rail or metro project.
The role reports to the QA/QC Manager and interacts with program management, engineering, construction, and other functional groups.
Missions and Main Duties
- Stop work when a serious health, safety, or environmental standards breach is identified.
- Conduct audits to verify plan and procedure compliance and maintain documentary evidence.
- Coordinate with construction staff and plan inspection and testing activities.
- Monitor contractor, subcontractor, and supplier adherence to project QA/QC plans and procedures.
- Maintain surveillance of design-build contractor QC inspectors and collaborate with inspectors.
- Conduct site visits to verify procedures and review NCRs, progress feedback, and workforce concerns.
- Ensure as-built quality records are produced in accordance with ITPs.
- Surveil ITP content and records for materials, tolerances, standards, certification, traceability, and product use.
- Verify sampling, handling, curing, storage, testing, and temperature checks where applicable.
- Ensure authorized ITPs are available at the workplace before work begins.
- Ensure site QA/QC compliance through surveillance and QC Inspector reporting.
- Plan daily inspection activities and surveillances.
Profile and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
- Experience in heavy infrastructure, civil engineering, or rail and metro projects.
- Knowledge of QA/QC principles, tools, and techniques.
- A quality qualification or professional quality body membership is ideally preferred.
- At least 8 years of QA/QC experience in infrastructure, civil engineering, or rail projects.
- Excellent English verbal, reading, and writing skills.
