About the role
Citi is seeking a Python AI Engineer for its Controls Technology team.
The role focuses on integrating pretrained and hosted foundation models into retrieval-grounded, context-aware, and agentic AI applications.
The engineer will own well-scoped components while developing technical depth under the guidance of senior developers and AI architects.
Core responsibilities
- Build and integrate Generative AI applications using managed GenAI APIs and open-model endpoints.
- Implement context engineering workflows that combine instructions, retrieved knowledge, tools, and conversation memory.
- Develop prompt engineering workflows and maintain RAG components, including chunking, embedding, and search.
- Support knowledge graph, Graph RAG, and agentic workflows with tool calling, planning, and memory.
- Integrate agents with external tools and data sources through MCP, with exposure to A2A.
- Deploy, monitor, and maintain GenAI and agentic applications in production.
Engineering collaboration
- Perform data preprocessing, document ingestion, and basic API development for AI applications.
- Collaborate with data scientists and engineers to integrate AI capabilities into products.
