Role overview
Join Hatch's metals and mining practice as a Pyrometallurgy Engineering Trainee.
Apply academic engineering knowledge to complex metals, process, battery-materials, and decarbonization projects.
Gain experience in office and project-site environments while working toward professional designation.
Responsibilities
- Support multidisciplinary engineering work with a focus on process engineering.
- Assist with metals projects, including critical metals projects for battery manufacturing.
- Support decarbonization projects that apply technologies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
- Develop process control, simulation, automation, prediction, and operations models.
- Interpret simulation and field data and help develop test work programs.
- Prepare mass and energy balances, design criteria, engineering reports, layouts, hazard studies, and cost estimates.
- Assist with project management within defined scope, schedule, and budget.
- Analyze on-site data and prepare reports.
Education and experience
- Be graduating in 2027 or recently graduated with an engineering degree specializing in Materials, Metallurgical, or Chemical Engineering.
