Role Overview

The Purchasing and Inventory Specialist manages purchasing and inventory levels for fitness equipment, replacement parts, amenity items, audio visual equipment, furniture, and facility needs.

The position manages the end-to-end purchasing process from initial quotation through logistics delivery and vendor management.

Purchasing and Operations

  • Process requests from service technicians, club management, club design, and special projects teams.
  • Research and compare suppliers and analyze warranty and negotiated discount options.
  • Coordinate order support and delivery logistics between suppliers and requesters.
  • Support service technicians and warehouse staff with documents and escalations.
  • Oversee club requisitions for specialty items.

Inventory and Reporting

  • Forecast and replenish warehouse inventory and work with management teams to understand forecasting needs.
  • Generate and update inventory reviews for various warehouses.
  • Support warehouses with faulty products and discrepancies and manage reports to correct requisitions.

Vendor and Reconciliation Duties

  • Communicate vendor expectations for timelines, freight, and billing and manage pricing and contracts in the database.
  • Coordinate recall and proactive repair work with vendors and maintain professional vendor relationships.
  • Maintain transaction records and reconcile purchase orders, receipts, payments, goods received, and accounting charges.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma, college or university education, or applicable training.
  • At least 3 years of proven success in a purchasing role.

Compensation

  • The selected candidate is expected to start at a base salary of $49,000.
  • The annual compensation range is $49,000 to $61,000, determined by performance and time in the position.
