About the Role
Thamarat Market is seeking a Purchasing & Commercial Manager to build sourcing, inventory, merchandising, and B2B sales operations for a grocery platform in Doha. The role requires 5+ years in purchasing or FMCG retail, supplier negotiation skills, and experience with ERP systems.

Responsibilities
- Develop and execute procurement strategies; source and negotiate with local suppliers, distributors, FMCG vendors & specialty producers
- Build a dual sourcing model — manage institutional suppliers commercially while developing independent/community producers
- Lead setup of inventory management systems (online, warehouse & retail) — SKU hierarchy, SOPs, replenishment & demand forecasting
- Support online grocery launch: product onboarding, catalog setup, pricing, online merchandising & promotions
- Develop B2B relationships with hotels, cafés, restaurants, offices & institutions; prepare proposals and supply agreements
- Onboard merchants, consignment partners and local/artisan producers — including licensing guidance, packaging & retail readiness support
- Lead merchandising planning for the physical store — category layout, shelf planning & visual presentation
- Prepare reports on purchasing, inventory, supplier performance, sales & margins; collaborate with Finance, Operations, Marketing & Logistics
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Retail Management or related field
- Experience with ERP/inventory management systems
- 5+ years in purchasing, FMCG/grocery retail, inventory or commercial operations
- Experience working with small scale or independent producers (preferred)
- Experience launching retail or online grocery operations (highly preferred)
- Qatar/GCC retail market experience preferred
- Strong supplier negotiation & relationship management skills
- Strong analytical, reporting and project management skills

- We are seeking a commercially driven Purchasing & Commercial Manager to build the operational backbone of sourcing, inventory, merchandising and B2B sales during our launch and growth phase.
