Source and purchase construction materials, including cement, steel, aggregates, electrical and plumbing items, and paints.
Collect quotations and compare vendor rates, terms, and delivery timelines.
Prepare and process purchase orders and maintain procurement records.
Coordinate with site engineers, project managers, and stores to understand material requirements.
Track and follow up on material deliveries and ensure timely receipt at construction sites.
Maintain vendor relationships and negotiate improved pricing and service terms.
Resolve delayed deliveries, material rejections, and invoice mismatches.
Maintain records of purchases, pricing, and vendor performance.
Support the accounts department with purchase-related documentation for billing and payments.
Monitor stock levels with storekeepers and suggest reorders when required.

Minimum two years of experience in a purchasing or procurement role within the construction industry.
At least one year of experience purchasing civil materials.
Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, and procurement software or ERP systems.
Strong negotiation, communication, and follow-up skills.
Good knowledge of common construction materials and their market availability.
Attention to detail and basic knowledge of inventory control.
Familiarity with site workflows, BOQs, and vendor billing procedures.
A diploma is preferred.
