Create your best future and join Westpac as a Protective Security Intelligence Analyst.

What’s the role?

If you're naturally curious, love connecting the dots and can turn complex information into clear, actionable insights, this could be the role for you.

As a Protective Security Intelligence Analyst, you'll help identify, assess and respond to threats that could impact Westpac's people, customers, operations and reputation.

Working within a highly experienced Protective Security team, you'll gather and analyse information from a range of sources, including open-source intelligence, social media, internal reporting and specialist intelligence platforms.

This is a role where investigative thinking and intelligence analysis come together.

One day you might be building a threat assessment, the next you're supporting a protective security investigation or preparing an executive briefing on an emerging risk.

Your work will help leaders make informed decisions during incidents, investigations and rapidly evolving situations.

You'll join a collaborative team with deep expertise across intelligence, law enforcement, military and protective security backgrounds, offering a unique opportunity to learn from experienced professionals while contributing your own perspective and expertise.

This is a permanent, full-time role based in Sydney / Warrane, Gadigal Country, with flexible hybrid working arrangements available.

Standard working hours are 38.5 hours per week, with some flexibility required during security incidents or urgent intelligence matters.

What do I need?

  • Proven experience in intelligence, investigations, protective security, law enforcement, journalism, or a comparable analytical discipline
  • Strong understanding of intelligence collection, structured analytical techniques, threat assessment methodologies, and intelligence production
  • Demonstrated experience using OSINT and SOCMINT ethically, safely, and in accordance with policy requirements
  • Strong analytical judgement, with the ability to identify patterns, emerging risks, intelligence gaps, and concerning behaviours from diverse information sources
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce clear, concise, and executive-ready intelligence products
  • High levels of integrity, discretion, and professionalism when handling sensitive and confidential information

Highly desirable:

  • Experience in financial services, corporate security, investigations, or regulated industries
  • Experience using intelligence platforms, social media monitoring tools, and vendor intelligence systems
  • Understanding of protective security threats such as insider risk, protest activity, fixated persons, criminal threats, cyber-enabled physical security risks, and geopolitical developments
