Protection and Control Technician III

• Registration or eligibility for registration with ASTTBC.
• NETA certification or equivalent electrical testing experience.
• Experience with SEL relays, AcSELerator QuickSet, SCADA, IEC 61850, DNP3, Modbus, or substation automation.
• Current WHMIS, First Aid/CPR/AED, fall protection, confined space, or other relevant safety training.
• Knowledge of CSA Z462 or equivalent electrical safety standards.
• Travel and Working Conditions
• Ability to travel throughout British Columbia and occasionally to other locations in Canada, including overnight or extended assignments.
• Availability to work overtime, evenings, weekends, or statutory holidays when required by outages and project schedules.
• Valid driver’s licence and driving record that meet company and insurer requirements.
• Ability to work safely in substations, industrial facilities, construction environments, and outdoor conditions.
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment and perform the essential duties of the role, with reasonable accommodation where required.
• Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, crouch, and lift or move equipment weighing up to 23 kilograms or 50 pounds.
• Hours of work, overtime, rest periods, and statutory holiday compensation will be administered in accordance with applicable B.C. employment standards and company policy.

The compensation range reflects Shermco Canada’s reasonable estimate at the time of posting.

Final compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, certifications, technical capabilities, and internal equity.
