Project Material Manager

Role overview

Core responsibilities

• Manage the industrial scope and material flow for the project.
• Coordinate quality, cost, and delivery commitments across teams and stakeholders.
• Align material management with procurement strategies and project objectives.
• Oversee the Bill of Materials and obsolescence management plans.
• Industrialize logistics flows to optimize lead times.
• Drive demand to Industrial Operations and ensure timely material delivery.
• Deploy retro-planning based on project PBS or BOQ, supplier lead times, and installation dates.
• Highlight material risks and drive action plans.
• Set up project industrialization processes and manage associated deliverables.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Quality, Installation, Procurement, and support functions.
• Maintain demand planning, stock levels, material cash-flow performance, and inventory closure.
• Supervise requirements consolidation and Customer Factory Acceptance Test work plans.

Qualifications

• A degree in electrical, industrial, or mechanical engineering is required.
• A master's degree in engineering, supply chain, or project management is preferred.
• At least 7 years of experience in material management, industrialization, or engineering roles is required.
• Good understanding of industrial, supply chain, procurement, and logistics processes.
• Knowledge of product or system technical requirements and project management practices.
• Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems.
• Strong communication and organizational skills with a proactive continuous-improvement mindset.
• Fluency in English is required.
• Railway signaling project experience is a strong asset.

Compensation

• Expected compensation is $90,000 to $110,000 CAD per year, plus benefits and eligibility for an annual performance bonus.
• Final compensation depends on skills, experience, and internal equity.
