Under the direction of Business Development leadership, manages the execution of utility-scale battery energy storage system (BESS) and solar-plus-storage projects from development handoff through engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, testing, and transition to operations.

Leads the execution of utility-scale battery energy storage (BESS) and solar-plus-storage projects from development handoff through commercial operation.
Responsible for project scope, schedule, budget, safety, quality, and stakeholder coordination to ensure successful project delivery and reliable utility operations.
Under the direction of Business Development leadership, manages the execution of utility-scale battery energy storage system (BESS) and solar-plus-storage projects from development handoff through engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, testing, and transition to operations.
Responsible for project scope, schedule, budget, quality, safety, regulatory compliance, and stakeholder coordination while providing owner-side leadership of EPC contractors, consultants, equipment suppliers, and cross-functional teams.
Ensures projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in alignment with operational, technical, and business objectives.
Lead owner-side execution of utility-scale battery energy storage system (BESS) and solar-plus-storage projects from development handoff through engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, testing, commercial operation, and transition to operations.
Develop and manage project execution plans, governance processes, project controls, risk registers, reporting requirements, and project documentation.
Manage project scope, schedule, budget, quality, safety, and overall project performance to achieve business objectives.
Coordinate EPC contractors, Owner's Engineers, consultants, equipment suppliers, and internal stakeholders to support successful project execution.
Lead development and administration of EPC contract technical requirements, project specifications, performance guarantees, testing requirements, warranties, and related project documentation.
Facilitate design reviews, engineering milestone approvals, technical issue resolution, and incorporation of project requirements into execution plans and contract documents.
Coordinate project planning activities, including engineering, procurement, permitting, interconnection, construction sequencing, commissioning, and operational readiness.
Manage contract administration activities, including submittals, RFIs, change orders, invoices, payment applications, claims support, and compliance with contractual obligations.
Identify, assess, mitigate, and resolve technical, commercial, construction, procurement, safety, quality, and schedule risks.
Support construction, commissioning, performance testing, final acceptance, project closeout, and turnover to operations.
Ensure compliance with applicable safety, environmental, regulatory, cybersecurity, interconnection, and utility operational requirements.
Lead project meetings and provide regular communication regarding project status, risks, decisions, and recommendations to leadership and stakeholders.
Support procurement activities and contract negotiations through technical reviews, commercial evaluations, schedule assessments, and risk analysis.
Promote continuous improvement through lessons learned, best practices, and enhancements to project execution processes and standards.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Business, Finance, or a related field.
Advanced degree, PMP certification, or equivalent project management credential preferred.
Years of Experience
Experience: 3+ years of relevant experience required; level will be determined based on total years of experience.
Senior Level- 8 or more years of progressively responsible experience in project execution, project management, engineering, construction management, contract management, or electric utility infrastructure delivery, including significant experience with utility-scale battery energy storage systems.
with BESS EPC execution, owner’s engineer coordination, battery OEMs, PCS/inverter suppliers, EMS/SCADA integration, commissioning, performance testing, interconnection, safety standards, or operations handoff is strongly preferred.
Prior leadership, supervisory, or cross-functional team management experience preferred.
Advanced knowledge of utility-scale battery energy storage system (BESS), renewable energy, and electric utility infrastructure project execution, including engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, testing, and operational turnover.
Knowledge of project management principles, practices, and controls, including scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk, change management, and project reporting.
Strong understanding of EPC contracting, contract administration, commercial management, procurement processes, and project delivery methodologies.
Ability to coordinate and influence cross-functional teams, contractors, consultants, suppliers, and stakeholders to achieve project objectives without direct supervisory authority.
Knowledge of utility-scale BESS technologies, engineering concepts, system integration, performance requirements, commissioning processes, and operational considerations.
Understanding of applicable safety, environmental, regulatory, interconnection, cybersecurity, and compliance requirements related to utility infrastructure and energy storage projects.
Ability to review and interpret engineering documents, technical specifications, contract documents, schedules, budgets, cost forecasts, construction reports, and commissioning documentation.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify, assess, mitigate, and resolve technical, commercial, operational, and project execution issues.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports, present project information, communicate risks and recommendations, and facilitate stakeholder discussions.
Strong organizational and project coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and complex project activities simultaneously.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and project management, project controls, document management, and collaboration software; experience with Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Procore, Power BI, or similar tools preferred..
