Position Summary
Powers & Sons Construction is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our Chicago, Illinois office.
The Project Manager will lead the planning and execution of commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout, ensuring each project meets its safety, quality, schedule, financial, and client-service objectives.
This position serves as the primary point of coordination between owners, architects, engineers, trade partners, field leadership, and internal project teams.
The successful candidate will be a proactive leader who can manage complex project details, build strong relationships, anticipate risk, and maintain accountability throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Lead commercial construction projects from preconstruction and procurement through construction, closeout, and warranty.
Develop, maintain, and manage project budgets, cost forecasts, schedules, and overall project execution plans.
Coordinate closely with Superintendents to align field operations, manpower, logistics, safety, quality, and project sequencing.
Manage owner and design-team communications, including progress meetings, reporting, decision tracking, and issue resolution.

Ability to lead multiple priorities and make sound decisions in a fast-paced project environment.
Strong written, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.
Proficiency with construction management, scheduling, estimating, and Microsoft Office software.
Experience with public, institutional, education, healthcare, civic, industrial, or similar commercial construction projects is preferred.
OSHA 30 certification or the ability to obtain it.
