What You Will Do
- Immerse yourself in a full-time, Monday-Friday co-op session, that will run May/June- December (including the Fall semester; it is expected students will take a semester off from coursework to fully engage with this working mentorship opportunity).
- As a Project Engineering Co-op at Collins Aerospace, you will work with the Supplier Designed Equipment (SDE) Project Engineering group, located in Windsor Locks, Connecticut. The SDE team is focused on leading engineering projects for engine control systems products designed and manufactured by our supplier base. We are engaged at all levels with our internal and external customers during every stage of the aerospace product life cycle (development, entry into service, in-service support). We are a highly collaborative team that interfaces with multiple engineering disciplines, as well as business-related functions. We place value on our customers, our products and services, and our team members. In this role you can expect to gain experience supporting a variety of mechanical products that include pneumatic valves, hydraulic valves/actuators, and heat exchangers on large commercial, military and business aviation engines programs.
- Support project tasks of short to medium duration, while ensuring customer milestones are met within budget and schedule commitments
- Host cross-functional meetings, manage action items, and drive project execution through action follow-up
- Engage with a cross-functional team on engineering change execution
- Work alongside experienced engineers to support major development milestones, including design reviews, verification or qualification testing
