Sunland Asphalt is looking for a career-minded Project Engineer to join our booming business in Phoenix, AZ. The Project Engineer will work directly for the Project Managers on construction projects. The successful candidate must have a basic understanding of project management, site development and critical path scheduling. Essential Responsibilities:
Project Support
Assist Project Managers and Superintendents with daily project management activities.
Review project plans, specifications, and contract documents.
Help prepare Requests for Information (RFIs), submittals, and change order documentation.
Maintain project files and documentation.
Field Coordination
Visit construction sites regularly to monitor progress and support field operations.
Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, surveyors, and inspectors.
Assist with tracking production quantities and project progress.
Help ensure work is completed according to plans and specifications.

Cost and Schedule Management
Assist with project scheduling and work planning.
Track material deliveries and subcontractor activities.
Support budget and cost tracking efforts.

Qualifications
Degree or coursework in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related field or 2 plus Years Experience In related field.
Strong interest in civil construction, grading, earthwork, and site development.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and construction plans.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Project, and Teams.
Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites.
Preferred Qualifications
Internship, co-op, or field experience in construction or engineering.
Familiarity with Bluebeam, Procore, AutoCAD Civil 3D, AGTEK, HCSS, or Microsoft Project.
Basic understanding of surveying, grading, or earthwork operations.
