Project Engineer - Process Power Manager

Role Overview

Work Model

• The work model is hybrid.
• The role is based in Bangalore, India.

Engineering Delivery

• Evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques and procedures.
• Handle testing, installation, and commissioning activities and prepare project documentation.
• Apply design thinking and design-for-excellence concepts to projects.
• Use standard processes and tools and report process or tool inefficiencies.

Project Controls

• Prepare proposals and presentations, including bills of materials and estimated engineering hours.
• Create work plans and cost estimates and review scope, budget, and schedule for assignments.
• Support contract change management by assessing scope, cost, time, and risk impacts.
• Report contract, quality, program, and cost issues with recommendations for resolution.

Power Management Systems

• Complete Power Management System risk and opportunity assessments and implement resulting actions.
• Work on PMS functions including primary equipment monitoring and control, load shedding, load sharing, and synchronization.

Suppliers and Coordination

• Coordinate with Supply Chain to communicate and agree technical requirements with potential suppliers.
• Evaluate supplier proposals and accept fit-for-purpose equipment or services.
• Assign tasks to and coordinate work with entry-level engineers, technicians, and administrative staff.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of relevant engineering and commissioning experience with Power Management Systems.
• Hands-on experience with substation control-system network architecture and control philosophy for process or power plants.
• Working knowledge of utility communication protocols and DCS application engineering tools.
• Experience configuring controllers, protocol gateways, data concentrators, and manufacturer IEDs on IEC 61850.
• Experience creating IEC, ICD, CID, and SCD files.
• Bachelor's degree of four years or equivalent experience.
• Willingness to travel nationally and internationally up to 70% and possession of a valid international passport.
