Project Engineer – Infrastructure (Facilities)

The opportunity Associated Engineering, a proudly Canadian, Employee-owned Company is seeking an experienced and dedicated Project Engineer – Infrastructure (Facilities) to join our team in our Ontario operation (Markham, NOTL, Kitchener). This position is a full-time position where you will be responsible for serving as the civil lead on multidisciplinary facility projects – including water and wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, and reservoirs. You will own the civil scope from design through construction, collaborating closely with process, mechanical, electrical, and structural teams to deliver integrated, high-quality infrastructure for communities across Ontario. What we offer: Flexible/hybrid working arrangements, depending on position Market competitive salaries, with annual reviews Salary range of: 95-120k Opportunity to become a shareholder and invest in the company’s long term growth & success Matching company pension program, increasing over time Comprehensive benefits including: Health/dental/vision coverage, Fitness allowance, Employee and family assistance programs Mental health supports Paid time off so that you can recharge including: Generous paid vacation, Paid office closure over December holiday break Industry leading paid sick time Maternity/paternity leave top up program Ongoing support for your professional development and growth Active Young Professional group Formal mentoring programs Paid professional development hours Capacity building seminars Engineer In Training programs Opportunities to participate in social club activities and events Company-wide social events Regular lunch-and-learns Community volunteer opportunities Based in our Niagara-on-the-Lake office – a welcoming, tight-knit team working on meaningful regional infrastructure projects that directly serve the communities around us What you’ll do Serve as the civil lead on multidisciplinary facility projects including water and wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, and reservoirs – leading site grading, servicing, stormwater management, and structural coordination to deliver integrated, buildable civil designs Act as the primary civil lead for booster pump stations, sewage pump stations, and reservoir projects – managing the civil scope from design through to construction and ensuring milestones are met on time and within budget Collaborate with process, mechanical, electrical, and structural teams to ensure seamless integration of the civil scope within the broader facility design – resolving cross-discipline conflicts to keep projects aligned and efficient Navigate municipal approvals and environmental permitting processes relevant to facility infrastructure projects in Ontario – preparing drawings, specifications, and reports to meet all regulatory requirements Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior and intermediate engineers and technologists, while applying QA standards and checklists to uphold the quality and consistency of civil deliverables Does this sound like you? A minimum of 5+ years of progressive experience in civil engineering, with a focus on multidisciplinary facility or infrastructure projects Registered P.Eng. with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO), or currently eligible for P.Eng. licensure in Ontario Undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized post-secondary institution Proven technical expertise in the design and delivery of Civil engineering design including water/wastewater treatment facilities, booster pump stations, sewage pump stations, or reservoirs Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary teams (process, mechanical, electrical, structural) on complex facility projects Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a natural ability to lead project teams and engage with clients and external stakeholders Proven ability to deliver high-quality work and meet project deadlines in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment About Us At Associated Engineering, were passionate about not only the work we do but the communities we live and work in.
