The Project Director / Technical Director will lead major metro study and design delivery across the full project development cycle.
The role combines strategic leadership, technical oversight, client engagement, commercial performance, and distributed design coordination.
Missions/Main Duties
- Lead metro and urban rail assignments from feasibility through tender stage.
- Direct multidisciplinary teams covering rail planning, civil, structural, geotechnical, systems, stations, depots, track, MEP, architecture, and interfaces.
- Manage scope, schedule, budget, resources, performance, design integration, quality, and project risks.
- Coordinate internal teams, international design centres, partner organizations, and specialist subconsultants.
- Oversee feasibility, concept, preliminary design, tender documentation, technical reviews, and design optimization.
- Manage clients, authorities, operators, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Mentor senior engineers and discipline leads and support bids, proposals, and business development.
Profile/Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or another relevant engineering discipline.
- At least 20 years of relevant experience in metro, rail, or major urban transit infrastructure.
- Metro project experience and mandatory experience across feasibility, concept, preliminary design, and tender phases.
- Strong multidisciplinary design management and experience with out-of-country design centres and subconsultants.
- Knowledge of metro development, alignment, stations, depots, systems integration, standards, and tender documentation.
- Middle East experience, a relevant master’s degree, and professional registration or chartership are preferred.
