Project Director - Infrastructure

Job Description

Project Leadership and Delivery

• Lead large-scale infrastructure and masterplan development projects across the UAE.
• Provide direction from planning and design through execution and close-out.
• Establish delivery strategies, execution plans, governance frameworks, and performance objectives.
• Drive delivery against scope, schedule, budget, quality, and client expectations.
• Oversee multidisciplinary engineering, planning, commercial, project controls, and specialist teams.

Client and Stakeholder Management

• Act as the primary client interface and trusted advisor for major projects.
• Build relationships with government entities, developers, infrastructure authorities, contractors, and other stakeholders.
• Lead executive-level client engagement, steering committees, governance boards, and strategic project discussions.
• Manage stakeholder expectations and communication throughout project delivery.
• Support business growth through long-term client relationships and future opportunities.

Commercial and Financial Management

• Own project financial performance, commercial outcomes, budgets, forecasting, resource planning, profitability, and risk management.
• Support contract negotiations, commercial discussions, and project governance.
• Manage variations, change controls, claims, commercial risks, KPIs, and corrective actions.

Technical Leadership

• Provide technical oversight on complex infrastructure and masterplan development projects.
• Ensure engineering solutions align with client objectives, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
• Review deliverables and promote technical excellence, innovation, quality, safety, sustainability, and governance.
• Lead multidisciplinary design coordination and technical decision-making.

Risk, Governance, and Growth

• Lead risk identification, mitigation, escalation, audits, reviews, assurance, and lessons-learned activities.
• Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, regulatory frameworks, governance requirements, and client requirements.
• Support bids, tenders, client presentations, strategic pursuits, business unit strategies, and market intelligence.

Leadership and Team Management

• Lead, motivate, mentor, and develop multidisciplinary project teams and technical leaders.
• Support succession planning, talent development, capability growth, knowledge sharing, and best practice across the organisation.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• More than 20 years of professional experience in engineering consultancy, infrastructure delivery, or major development programmes.
• Proven experience with leading international engineering consultancies.
• Track record delivering large-scale infrastructure masterplans and land development projects in the UAE.
• Significant experience leading multidisciplinary project teams on complex projects.
• Strong understanding of the UAE infrastructure, transport, and development market.
• A master's degree in Engineering, Project Management, Business Administration, or a related field is desirable.
