Project Director - Infrastructure

Job Description

Project Leadership and Delivery

• Lead large-scale infrastructure and masterplan development projects across the UAE.
• Provide strategic direction from planning and design through execution and close-out.
• Establish delivery strategies, execution plans, governance frameworks, and performance objectives.
• Drive delivery against scope, schedule, budget, quality, and client expectations.
• Oversee multidisciplinary engineering, planning, commercial, project controls, and specialist teams.

Client and Stakeholder Management

• Act as primary client interface and trusted advisor for major projects.
• Build relationships with government entities, developers, infrastructure authorities, and key stakeholders.
• Lead executive-level client engagement and strategic project discussions.
• Represent the business at steering committees, governance boards, and executive meetings.
• Support growth through long-term client relationships and identification of future opportunities.

Commercial and Technical Leadership

• Own project financial performance, budgets, forecasting, resource planning, profitability, and risk management.
• Oversee contracts, variations, change controls, claims, commercial risks, KPIs, and corrective actions.
• Provide technical oversight and ensure engineering solutions meet objectives, regulations, and best practices.
• Lead multidisciplinary design coordination and promote quality, safety, sustainability, and technical governance.

Risk, Governance and Growth

• Ensure compliance with corporate governance, project management standards, contractual obligations, regulations, and client requirements.
• Lead risk identification, mitigation, escalation, audits, assurance, and lessons-learned activities.
• Support business development, bids, tenders, proposals, market intelligence, and business unit strategies.
• Lead, mentor, and develop multidisciplinary teams while supporting succession planning and knowledge sharing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• A master's degree in Engineering, Project Management, Business Administration, or a related field is desirable.
• At least 20 years of professional experience in engineering consultancy, infrastructure delivery, or major development programmes.
• Experience with leading international engineering consultancies is required.
• Experience delivering large-scale infrastructure masterplans and land development projects in the UAE is required.
• Significant experience leading multidisciplinary project teams on complex projects is required.
• Strong understanding of the UAE infrastructure, transport, and development market is required.
