Job Description

Lead major infrastructure and utilities works for a nuclear power plant in the UAE.

Provide project management, engineering oversight, construction supervision, contract administration, stakeholder coordination, commissioning support, and delivery assurance.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Act as the senior representative with clients, designers, consultants, regulators, authorities, utility providers, and key stakeholders.
  • Lead delivery through engineering, procurement, construction, installation, testing, commissioning, fuel-loading readiness, operational handover, and closeout.
  • Review and endorse project execution, nuclear safety, quality, construction, commissioning, security, environmental, and governance plans.
  • Oversee multidisciplinary team coordination and mobilization of technical, engineering, controls, construction, commissioning, quality, safety, licensing, and commercial resources.
  • Ensure compliance with safety cases, licensing commitments, regulatory requirements, nuclear quality standards, approved procedures, and contractual obligations.
  • Promote nuclear safety as the overriding priority in project decision-making and delivery.
  • Manage budgets, forecasts, change management, contract administration, claims avoidance, procurement strategy, cost control, and commercial risks.
  • Manage technical, safety, licensing, construction, commissioning, commercial, schedule, supply chain, security, environmental, and stakeholder risks.
  • Lead negotiations covering scope changes, variations, claims, technical deviations, design changes, contract amendments, and program adjustments.
  • Control design changes, technical queries, non-conformances, corrective actions, safety-significant items, and project records.
  • Monitor and report milestone, cost, schedule, safety, quality, environmental, security, commissioning, and sustainability performance.
  • Support business development, proposals, client engagement, and pursuits for nuclear power, energy, and critical infrastructure opportunities.

Required Skills You’ll Bring

  • Relevant degree or diploma with 20+ years of experience delivering major nuclear power, power generation, energy, industrial, or complex infrastructure projects.
  • Experience in a senior project management or project director position.
  • Experience leading major nuclear power plant or mega infrastructure projects.
  • Experience managing projects for government entities, major energy companies, or international developers.
  • Experience coordinating nuclear safety, licensing, regulatory approvals, safety-case commitments, design authority requirements, and regulatory hold points.
  • Strong commercial and financial management covering budgets, forecasts, earned value, change control, contract administration, procurement, and commercial risk.
  • Experience managing heavy civil works, nuclear-grade structures, equipment installation, mechanical and electrical works, testing, commissioning, and contractor interfaces.
  • Understanding of nuclear codes, standards, regulatory requirements, and international best practices.
  • Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, decision-making, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Understanding of project controls, risk, interface, schedule, cost, document, and configuration management.

Desired Skills You’ll Bring

  • Familiarity with BIM, digital engineering, 3D model coordination, digital twins, integrated project controls, electronic document management, asset information management, and data-driven reporting.
  • Experience managing interfaces among nuclear facilities, power-generation systems, transmission infrastructure, cooling water systems, site utilities, transportation networks, and public infrastructure.
  • Experience with nuclear utilities, reactor technology vendors, EPC contractors, engineering consultancies, commissioning organizations, or owners’ engineering teams is preferred.
  • Middle East or UAE experience on major energy, power-generation, industrial, or critical infrastructure programs is preferred.
