Facilities and Compliance

• Supervise tradespeople providing architectural, plumbing, electrical, and other building services.
• Work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and its regulations.
• Report hazards, deficiencies, and contraventions in a timely manner.
• Engage stakeholders and ensure changing resource and project requirements are understood and met.

Qualifications

• Complete a relevant four-year diploma, community college diploma, or industrial mechanical apprenticeship in a listed mechanical, construction, HVAC, civil, marine, or stationary engineering field.
• Have at least 5 years of related practical experience with significant exposure to plant equipment maintenance.
• Hold WHMIS safety training certification.
• Read and interpret engineering and architectural drawings.
• Know applicable codes, regulations, WHMIS, OHSA, hospital policies, and financial management procedures.

Skills and Attributes

• Read, write, understand, and communicate in English.
• Maintain multiple communication channels, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines.
• Demonstrate initiative, judgment, organizational ability, interpersonal skills, and effective communication.
• Work professionally with diverse stakeholders and comply with confidentiality requirements.
• Experience in a unionized hospital environment is preferred.
