Program Manager -Software

Job Overview: As a Software Engineering Program Manager, you are responsible for overseeing and coordinating the various projects and programs within the software engineering department.

Program Planning and Execution : Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan.

Lead and oversee the execution of the project tasks as defined in the project plan to achieve the project goals.

Stakeholder Management : Maintain effective communication and working relationships with stakeholders and third parties/vendors.

Provide regular and timely updates to stakeholders about progress, adjustments, and advancements.

Resource Allocation and Management : Determine and define project scope and objectives.

Predict resources needed to reach objectives and manage resources effectively.

Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop contingency plans.

Mitigate and manage issues, changes, and risks.

Quality Control : Ensure that all projects adhere to quality standards and that deliverables meet project requirements.

Reporting : Measure project performance to identify areas for improvement and report on project progress and changes.

Education : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or a related field.

A Master's degree or an MBA would be a plus.

Certifications like PMP (Project Management Professional) are preferred.

At least 5-7 years of experience in project management, with a focus on software development projects.

Technical Skills : Knowledge of software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, etc.), project management tools (like JIRA, Trello), and program management principles.

Soft Skills: Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.

Strong problem-solving abilities and strategic thinking.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure.

Other : Proven ability to solve problems creatively, strong familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices.
