About the role

Lead the delivery of complex capital projects and programs across Seqwater’s asset improvement portfolio. You’ll be responsible for project planning, business case development, procurement, design and delivery, ensuring outcomes meet safety, quality, budget and schedule targets. You’ll provide expert project governance and technical advice, manage contractors and stakeholder relationships, drive continuous improvement, and lead multidisciplinary teams to deliver value-for-money solutions for natural and built asset infrastructure.

This is a non-IT position and is not suited to candidates seeking careers in software development, cyber security, IT support, or systems administration.

The position is a maximum term contract until September 2029

What you'll bring

Tertiary qualifications in project management, engineering, business administration or related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Appropriate tertiary qualifications in engineering and project management.

Qualifications for Corporate Membership to the Institute of Engineers Australia or Australian Institute of Project Management, or ability to gain qualifications within six months of appointment.

Class C Driver's Licence.

Demonstrated successful achievement of managing the delivery of infrastructure. projects of a complex and multi-disciplinary engineering nature, preferably in a water related environment.

Significant experience in managing the delivery of projects and programs, including planning, organising, executing and reporting progress.

Significant achievement in managing the resources required in the provision of the project delivery program.

Significant experience in the development of sourcing strategies and the preparation of business cases to obtain best value, including management of the procurement process and development and execution of contracts.

Broad knowledge of water infrastructure and treatment systems and substantial experience in Contract Management.

Proven high-level knowledge of key areas of project management body of knowledge (PMBOK).

Extensive knowledge and experience in Australian standards and general conditions for contracting, contract law, quality assurance, environmental management and workplace health and safety management.

Proven ability to lead and manage multi-disciplinary teams, consultants and contractors to achieve corporate goals and project objectives.

Highly developed verbal communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise, influence and negotiate with key stakeholders, external and internal clients, team members, regulatory authorities, consultation groups and other staff.

Highly developed written communication and computer literacy skills including Project scheduling, to compile and develop professional, technical and quality documentation and management reports on the program.

The ability to coach and mentor colleagues and staff, providing mentorship and leadership qualities.

Proven experience in business process development, implementation and administration, with a proven record of effecting and consolidating change.
